What’s On in Kitchener-Waterloo: Week of November 7, 2025
If you’re living in or visiting the KW region the week of Nov 7, you’re in for a good time. Whether you’re up for a thoughtful art talk, a drop-in family activity, or a creative workshop, I’ve found a few really worthwhile happenings around town. Let’s go!
1. “Culture Talks: Art, Architecture, the Public Realm & Social Infrastructure”
📍 Kitchener‑Waterloo Art Gallery (101 Queen St N, Kitchener)
🗓 Thursday, Nov 6, 6:30 PM – 8:30 PM. (This kicks off just ahead of the “week” but still good for the week of Nov 7)
What’s up: Thought-provoking talk by civic design leader Carol Coletta about how art, architecture and public space shape our communities.
Why you’ll love it: If you want something more elevated than your usual weekend outing — this is it. Perfect for the creative crowd, or you’re just curious about how cities work.
Pro tip: Arrive early to grab a good seat — and bring a notebook if you’re feeling inspired.
2. “Introduction to Painting” Workshop – Kids (and maybe adults too!)
📍 Same gallery (KWAG)
🗓 Begins Sunday, Nov 9, 2:00 PM – 3:30 PM (runs weekly)
What’s up: A 4-week series of painting workshops for ages 8-12.
Why you’ll love it: If you’ve got kiddos (or know someone who does), this is a great post-school-week-activity. Or maybe you take part vicariously by buying them a sketch-pad and joining for fun later!
Pro tip: Spots might fill, so pre-register if possible.
3. Family-Sunday at the Gallery (All About Autumn)
📍 KWAG, Kitchener
🗓 Sunday, Nov 2, 1:00 PM – 4:00 PM (just before the main week)
What’s up: Mixed-media crafts, kid-friendly vibes and celebrating all things fall.
Why you’ll love it: If you’re reading this ahead of time and planning for a weekend with kids — this is a gem.
Pro tip: Bring a little smock/old shirt for the kids — things may get colourful!
4. Extra: Things to Keep On Your Radar
Since the main week (Nov 7–13) doesn’t have a massive list yet (as per the calendars I searched), here are some events very close to that week you can also pop in:
Workshop, kids & families: “Introduction to Painting” (see above) → starts Nov 9.
Thought-leadership talk: Culture Talks on Nov 6 (see above)
Keep scanning local listings (Explore Waterloo, Eventbrite KW, and local papers) because more events often pop up in early November – special workshops, local bands, indoor craft markets, etc.
