Outdoor Art Hunt: Where to Find Murals, Sculptures & Street Art in KW
Who says art belongs in a gallery? Kitchener-Waterloo is full of outdoor art that you can find on your lunch break, your walk home, or a weekend exploring with friends.
DTK’s Mural Scene
Wander through Downtown Kitchener and you’ll see everything from massive murals (like the multicolour bird mural on Charles Street) to hidden alleyway pieces that’ll surprise you. New murals pop up every year!
Art Walk in Uptown Waterloo
Take a walk along Willis Way, Caroline, and King Street for outdoor installations, sculptures, and a few pieces that make you go “huh, cool!” Waterloo Park also has some fun additions on its trails and near the bandshell.
Sculpture Garden at UW
The University of Waterloo’s campus features several interesting sculptures if you're in the mood for an artsy stroll. Plus, it's quiet during the summer!
Bonus Idea: DIY Art Walk Tour
Make a day of it! Create your own little “gallery crawl” with a walking loop and grab a drink at Show & Tell Coffee or Jane Bond along the way. Don’t forget to snap pics and tag the artists if known!
