Get Your Steps In: 5 Scenic Walking Trails in KW

Whether you're out with a stroller, catching up with a friend, or clearing your head after a long day, a good trail can work wonders. Lucky for us, KW is full of beautiful places to walk that are right in our backyard.

Step-by-Step KW Trails:

1. Iron Horse Trail
This paved path connects Kitchener to Waterloo and is packed with murals, local shops, and lots of action. It’s like a walking tour with a side of people-watching.

2. Walter Bean Trail
Follows the Grand River and gives you gorgeous views, peaceful vibes, and some solid “wow” moments at sunset.

3. Huron Natural Area Trails
Woodland, wetlands, boardwalks—this spot has it all, and the trails range from easy loops to longer treks.

4. Health Valley Trail (St. Jacobs)
Just outside the core, this hidden gem has forest feels and is extra pretty in the morning. Coffee from EcoCafe after? Yes please.

5. Spurline Trail
Perfect for a short urban walk or bike ride with benches and cool views of trains and murals along the way.

👟 Trail Hack: Bring a reusable water bottle and wear bug spray if you’re going forest-side.
